Nanortalik Greenland Day 17 Wednesday 13/08/2025
Arriving at Nanortalik a small fishing at around 0730 as usual in a fog and right on time it lifted just after 0900 Hrs to another bright sunny day of 7 degrees. Nanortalik means Place of Bears in Greenlandic this little fishing villages waters teem seals and Minke; Humpback and Fin whales and Polar bears can be seen on offshore flow ice if you are lucky, we were not. The shore is dotted with brightly painted wooden houses; the port is surrounded by mountains and was in 1797 as a Danish whaling station.
