After two and a half days at sea we have arrived at Pitcairn Island which is one of the most remote inhabited islands in the world. Lying below the tropic of Capricorn halfway between New Zealand and the Americas was here that Fletcher Christian and eight of the mutineers of the HMS Bounty was sunk.

Hanga Roa, Easter Island                                        Day 42          Temp 20            Monday 8/9/2025

After four days at sea we are now sailing around Easter Is or Hanga Roa which ever you like to call it but because of the Chilian Government we are not allowed to get any closer than two mile.

The Monoliths of Easter Is have fascinated and puzzled Westerners since the Duch seaman Roggeven made landfall there on Easter Sunday 1722. The society that produced the Moai flourished during the 16th and 17 centuries, but population growth, deforestation and food shortages led to its collapse.  some 3400 people inhabit this 64- square-mile Island which lies some 2,200 miles equidistant from Tahiti and a South America. Islanders also possessed a script called Rongorongo, the only written language in all of Oceania.

                                                        Our circle of Easter Island

This is as close as the Chilian authorities would let us be

Spot the patrol boat making sure we stay two mile away

San Martin (Pisco / Paracas) Peru                    Day 38 Temp 20                    Wednesday 4 /09/2025

After leaving Lima the next morning we arrived at San Martin the port for a small village for Paracas and Pisco a quite colonial town with its fertile coastal valley. for thousands of years pre-Columbian societies thrived in valleys such as this utilizing sophisticated systems of irrigation they transformed the harsh coastal desert into productive farmland. Unlike the desert hillsides around San Martin, Now for three days at sea.
