        Melbourne to Hawaii and Return

                                                    Day 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17,18,19,20,21,            18th - 27th/10/2023   

After the show that was put on for us at Moorea we headed for Raiatea for our next shore stop but we awoke to a grey sky and to the news that cyclone Lola had may it unsafe to go ashore so we had wait till it was high tide so we could dept thru the coral channel and make our way to Port Vila Vanuatu this being our 55th wedding anniversary  the staff at the Grande dining room gather around and sang Happy anniversary Eilleen and Aidan to make our day memorable.  But cyclone Lola again had a say in where we were going with her now being upgraded to a category 5 and Port Vila still only accessible by tender for a ship of this size it was again not safe so now our plans are to go to Mystery Island but yet again the sea was to rough even with Lola now a category 3 so now the next land we get to is Brisbane day 18 the 28th October 2023.

                                                                          Moorea

        Today it was Tender to the Island were we was greeted as always my local music and at a market                where you could buy local wares.

        It was when we got back to the ship that two whales came into the lagoon and swam around for 

        three hours and then gave us a parting show with a couple of jumps out of the water and was gone.

                                                                       Papeete Tahiti

       Docked at 0700 after breakfast had a walk around town then got a mini van and did a trip around

        the Island which was a four hour drive the driver did not speak much English so it was a quiet ride  

        but the other six passengers were good company.

                                                                Day 4 to 8 cruising                     10th to 15th /10 /2023

        Depurating Honolulu on a warm night the city lights were a great back dropped the next 6 days 

        at sea was a good time to get to know some of our traveling companions and make new friends

        even with Facebook followers till we docked in Papeete Tahiti.

First six days at sea on the Quantum of the Seas.

             Melbourne to Hawaii and return               Day 3.                             Tuesday 9/10/2023

                

                                                                       Honolulu

    

    This is our last day in Hawaii with a tour of the Arizona Memorial Park at Pearl Harbour witch 

    two hours rounds trip and very interesting and Saloum.

    That night we had dinner not far from out hotel at a local restaurant where you could get a pizza    

    and a beer each for $10 then a beer for $3 there we met a couple of follow passengers and had a 

    great time.

                Melbourne to Hawaii and return                   Day 2.                                       8/10/2023

                                                                              Honolulu        

        After recovering from the 9and a half hour flight  we took a short walk to Waikiki Beach then                booked a tour around the Island and a visit to Pearl Harbor National Memorial.

        Then to a Japanese Restaurant for dinner with the works fire and all it was a great meal it was than         a  early night as it was a 0600 get up for the 10 and half tour .

Melbourne to Hawaii and return

 

            Saturday 7/10/2023                    Sydney                                                Day 1.

            Beverley drove us to the airport got on the end of the que at 1415 we sat down at the gate at 1630

            sat down for 10 min the then started boarding and this time departed on time at 1730

            Touched down at Honolulu airport 20 min early.

Got to the Hotel at 0700 and had to wait till 1100 for our room to be ready 

while sitting at the pool we meat a nice couple Merred and Fred and told us 

of a company they had used on a tour and the were very happy so we have 

booked tomorrow and Mondays tours with them Merred and Fred are also

on the Quantum of the Seas back to Brisbane.

                Today was just tidying up all the loose ends Like picking up the needles from the hospital 

                and getting a cold storage bag.

            Goulburn to Sydney                        Thursday 5/10/2023

            We left Goulburn at 0950in under cloudy skies but no rain and it got clearer the closer we got to                Sydney getting to Beverley's 1205.

            Ended the day with dinner at the Woolwich Pier Bub.

Melbourne to Hawaii And Return

         Melbourne to Goulburn                        4th/10/ 2023

                  Melbourne 

Depart at 09 45  in light rain to Seymour then clear and mild weather to Albury With a stop at Benalla for a cup of coffee and doughnut where it started to all the way to Goulburn in heavy rain.                         We were about 15 min north of Albury when I remembered that I had forgot my needles  and a so with a stop at Holbrook and a phone call to RMH that was the start of 3 hours of work for Rebecca at RMH Beverley in Sydney and Claude at Westmead Hospital and all was arranged by them. That night it was dinner at the Gordon Pub.
